QUICK OVERVIEW:As steam forms it leaves behind impurities in the boiler water that will concentrate unless removed. The TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) in the boiler must be accurately controlled. High TDS can result in carryover of boiler water and impurities causing problems with production and plant. Low TDS due to too much blowdown increases fuel and water treatment chemical costs. Systems are available for all sizes and types of boiler.
